EAA Chapter 87 Minutes of Meeting Dated August 19, 2017 Submitted by Richard DeVito – Secretary

The August meeting was held at Mark Hayden’s Emmet Field in Monmouth. This was a fly-in drive-in picnic and was well attended. Only two aircraft flew in for the event due to morning fog. Everyone had a good time.

TREASURERS REPORT

Tom Muller reported that the ending balance on 7/31/2017 was $5,703.88. We currently have 42 members with five additional invoices outstanding. The major expense for July was the payment of $795 for an ACE Camp scholarship.

SEPTEMBER MEETING

We are planning two events for September.

Our normal monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday September 12 at the Brunswick Airport (KBXM) FBO staring at 1900 hours. Bob Bailey, the Owl’s Head Museum Aviation Curator will present an aviation program for the members.

On Saturday September 23 we will have a chapter cook out at Tom Muller’s hangar at Lewiston Auburn (KLEW) Airport stating at 1700 hours. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks will be provided by the chapter. Salads, desserts, or something to share are always welcome.

Directions to Tom’s hangar follow:

If you are traveling from Bowdoinham or the coastal areas, take 196 into Lewiston and take the Maine Turnpike (toll free) south to Auburn. Exit the turnpike at exit 75, turn right and head SW on 202/26/100/4 (all the same road). Take a right at the first light just after the Irving truck stop onto Kittyhawk Drive. Travel to the four corner stop sign intersection and turn right onto Hotel Road. On Hotel road, take the first left onto White Hangar Drive. Mountain Machine Company is at the entrance to the airport.

The vehicle gate may be closed, but can be opened via a key pad, and I will try to get the code prior to the get together. Alternately, you can also park outside the gate and walk in. The walk in gate is not locked. This area is dimly lit. Walk to the left of the white hangar and you will see yellow t-hangars on the front side of the white hangar. Tom’s hangar is in the second row of yellow T-hangars.
