5. OLD BUSINESS
Christmas Party - Members agreed to have the annual Christmas pot luck on Dec 10th at Brunswick Executive Airport. We plan to meet in the upstairs conference room.
Fundraising – Members agreed to authorize Leo Leclair and Tom Muller to go ahead with a fundraising project. A motion was made and seconded to print 500 tickets for raffle of a $500 Visa gift card. 100 tickets will be sold at $10/ticket. Proceeds will go to support youth oriented aviation activities.
6. NEW BUSINESS
Members discussed the need to plan ahead for any future fly in. Six month lead time was suggested. It was also noted that BXM will be hosting an air show in Aug 2017.
Dj Merrill purchased a set of floats in Canada for his Glastar.
Don Card has finished the controls for his Zenith Cruzer.
Tom Muller is working on the second wing for his Zenith 750. He has bought some tools for drilling out rivets.
Russell Keith stated he has 3 hours left to complete requirements for an instrument ticket. Russ related to an incident requiring landing with a stuck throttle due to a problem in the air box. Power was modulated using the mixture control and cutoff used after landing.
Tom Muller reported he is awaiting FAA regulation for the new class III medical. He might sell his RV-9A and transition to light sport.
The FAA has not as yet issued a medical to Charlie Gabelmann although he has met all requirements. They also pulled his special issuance to ensure he can’t fly a light sport aircraft. Charlie feels reviews for profession pilots are taking priority over his review.
The meeting was adjourned at 2034
The November meeting will be held at the terminal building at Brunswick Executive Airport on Tuesday the 8th at 7:00 PM. We will be voting on the slate of officers for the chapter in 2017.
