EAA Chapter 87 Minutes of Meeting Dated Sept 10, 2013 Submitted by Richard DeVito – Secretary
The September meeting and cook out was held at Tom Muller’s hangar at Lewiston Auburn Airport. President Charlie Gabelmann called the meeting to order at 1900.
SECRETARY REPORT – TREASURER’S REPORT
No Secretary report was provided since the August meeting was limited to a Fly in picnic at Mark Hayden’s Emmet field, and no business was conducted. No Treasurer’s report was provided due to extended travel of the treasurer.
Mark Hayden reported that the Annual August Fly In and Picnic held at Emmet field was a success. The weather was perfect and nine planes flew in for the event.
Tom Fisher made a motion that the chapter covers the costs for the Porta Potty and Tent put in place by Mark Hayden for his annual Fly In and Picnic. The motion was seconded by Everett Perkin and passed unanimously.
Tom Muller made a suggestion that the chapter take on a project to place bicycles at airports in the mid coast area. The bicycles could be used by visiting pilots, and would be placed at Brunswick, Wiscasset and Lewiston-Auburn. Most members present felt this was a good idea, but questions were raised regarding liability to the chapter. Charlie Gabelmann agreed to contact EAA National on the liability issue.
Charlie Gabelemann advised that we must provide a list of nominations for the 2014 chapter officers at the October meeting, and encouraged members to get involved.
The meeting was adjourned at 2000 hours.
The next meeting will be held at Brunswick Executive Airport (KBXM) in Hangar 6 on October 8 starting at 1930 hours.
Special thanks to Carlene Muller for pulling together the food and drinks for the cookout, and thanks to Russell Keith for assuming grilling duties. About 16 members attended and enjoyed the cook out.
