EAA Chapter 87 NEWS Sep 2010

The next Chapter meeting will be held

Tuesday Sept 14th

This month’s meeting will be in Auburn at Leo Leclair’s house profiling DJ Merril’s Glastar Sportsman project.

Route 136 in Durham/Auburn has been impassable due to a road collapse. I will post an update if it re-opens prior to the meeting.

If you are coming from Durham, turn left after the store onto the Davis Road. Go all the way to the end and turn right onto Runaround Pond Road. Go to the 4-way stop sign and turn right. This is Pownal road. I live about 8 miles from this corner. Watch for Box 276.

From Route 4 in Auburn, turn east onto Old Danville Road at the Sunset Motel about a half mile north of the Exit 73 of the ME Tpke. Go all the way to the end and turn left onto Pownal Road. I live one mile on the right. Box 276.

If there was ever a perfect day for a fly-in, it was August 21st, the day of Mark Hayden’s fly-in / Chapter gathering event. It wasn’t hot, there was no humidity and wind gods had blown themselves out in the previous week. About a dozen planes made the event and several Fly bys were performed which was a big hit with the little ones.
